Time 1h25m

Number Of Ingredients 7

20 oz crushed pineapple with juice
1 pkg yellow cake mix
8 oz cream cheese
12 oz cool whip
1 pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
2 c milk
1 c chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees ). Grease and flour one 9x13 inch pan. Drain pineapple. If pineapple is not well drained, it will make the filling runny. Mix and bake cake according to package instructions. Pour 1/2 of the batter into the prepared pan. Discard or find another use for the remaining half of the batter.
  • 2. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until done. Let cake cool in pan on a wire rack. Beat softened cream cheese until fluffy. Slowly add milk, combining thoroughly. Add instant pudding and beat until thick. Pudding mixture will thicken when refrigerated. When cake is cool and pudding mixture is thickened you can assemble the cake. Spread pudding mixture on top of the cooled cake. Sprinkle drained pineapple over pudding. Carefully spread thawed frozen whipped topping over all. Sprinkle chopped walnuts over all. Refrigerate. Enjoy!

This cake is way too expensive to make. I can buy a millionaire's cake from the store for less money.

I don't like millionaire's cake. It's too sweet and rich for my taste.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my cake didn't turn out right. The caramel seized up and the chocolate ganache was too thick.

This cake was a disappointment. The shortbread crust was dry and crumbly, the caramel was too sweet, and the chocolate ganache was grainy.

The only thing I would change about this recipe is to use a different type of chocolate for the ganache. I used semisweet chocolate, but I think it would be even better with dark chocolate.

I've tried many millionaire's cake recipes, but this one is by far the best. The shortbread crust is buttery and crumbly, the caramel is rich and gooey, and the chocolate ganache is the perfect finishing touch.
