Microwave S'Mores image

I love s'mores with the marshmallows toasted over a campfire, but I needed to make them for a classroom treat. I'm posting this recipe to remind myself how I did it. They turned out REALLY well, but I didn't need FIVE boxes of graham crackers for 52 students! One and one-half boxes was more than enough. I also used about one and...

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 rectangle of graham cracker, broken into 2 squares
1 small hershey bar, broken in two
1 large marshmallow

Steps:

  • 1. Set out graham crackers, chocolate bars, and marshmallows.
  • 2. Place the chocolate side-by-side on top of 1 square of graham cracker on a microwave-safe plate or napkin.
  • 3. Place a large marshmallow on top of the chocolate.
  • 4. Put the treat into the microwave and set timer for 15 seconds. NOTE: my new microwave only takes 10 seconds!
  • 5. Watch closely. When the marshmallow puffs up, the s'more is done. (If the marshmallow falls sideways, you need to quickly place it back in the center of the graham cracker using the top cracker piece.)
  • 6. Put the top cracker on top of the puffed marshmallow and press slightly.
  • 7. Another great idea: Seasonal S'Mores Kits using Peeps Marshmallow Shapes. Here are ones that I gave my students for Halloween. =^..^=

These were so easy to make and turned out great! I used graham cracker squares instead of graham cracker crumbs and they were still delicious.
