Back in the early 1970's I got my first Microwave. It was big and costly, but I "had" to have one. Of course now we can't live with out it. I remember taking a cooking class on how to use one. Number Of Ingredients 7

1/4 c light karo syrup
1 c granulated sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1 c peanuts, unsalted
1 tsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda

Steps:

  • 1. Mix Karo Syrup, Sugar, Slt and Peanutes in a 1 1/2 quart microwave proof dish. Cook for 4 minutes on high, stir and cook for an additional 3 1/2 minutes on high power.
  • 2. Stir in butter and vanilla and cook for 1 minute on high power.
  • 3. Add baking soda and stir lightly. Spread out very thinly on greased aluminum foil. Cool completely and then break into pieces.
