Categories     Fruit     No-Cook

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cups Melon Seeds and Endocarp (everything in the melon seed cavity)
8 cups Water
Honey to taste
1 stick cinnamon
Ice

Steps:

  • 1. Scoop out the insides of a melon, including seeds, strings, and liquid. 2. Add water (or the equivalent in melon flesh) and liquefy in the blender. 3. Adding melon flesh will make the drink less like horchata and more like a fresh fruit liquado, but it’s still delicious. 4. Transfer to a jar and add the cinnamon stick. 5. Add honey to a little warm water to dissolve, and sweeten horchata to taste. 6. Refrigerate overnight, if possible. 7. Strain though a fine mesh strainer. 8. Stir and pour into glasses over ice, garnished with a little shredded cinnamon.

This melon horchata is not worth the effort. It's a lot of work for a drink that's just okay.

I was really excited to try this melon horchata, but it was a let down. It was too thick and the flavor was just off.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my melon horchata turned out grainy. I think I might have blended it for too long.

I followed the recipe exactly but my melon horchata didn't turn out as creamy as I expected. I think I might have used too much water.

This melon horchata is a bit too sweet for my taste. I would recommend using less sugar next time.

I'm allergic to coconut milk, so I used almond milk instead. The melon horchata was still delicious and creamy!

The melon horchata was easy to make and turned out great! I used a blender to puree the melons and coconut milk, then strained the mixture through a cheesecloth-lined colander. The result was a smooth and creamy drink that was perfect for a hot summe

This melon horchata was a delightful treat! The combination of cantaloupe, honeydew, and coconut milk created a smooth, creamy, and refreshing beverage. I especially enjoyed the subtle hint of lime that added a nice citrusy touch.
