Meatball & Pasta Bake image

My daughter loves to help make this, as well as, devour it!

Number Of Ingredients 11

8 medium meatballs (homemade or pre-packaged)
1/2 large vidalia onion
1/2 large green bell pepper
2 Tbsp diced garlic
1 can(s) black olives
3 c marinara sauce (homemade or store bought)
1 Tbsp butter
8 oz spiral or penne pasta
1 tsp salt (or more/less to taste)
1 tsp pepper (or more/less to taste)
1 c shredded mozzarella

Steps:

  • 1. In a large skillet add butter to melt over medium heat.
  • 2. Put meatballs in pan to brown sides. (8 to 10 minutes)
  • 3. Add diced onions and bell peppers to pan with meat balls to saute. (5 minutes)
  • 4. Turn heat down a little and add black olives and marinara sauce. Salt and pepper to taste. (simmer for 10 minutes)
  • 5. Boil pasta while meatballs and marinara simmer.
  • 6. Mix everything in and 9x13 baking dish and cover. Place into a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees. (bake for 30 minutes)
  • 7. Uncover and sprinkle shredded mozzarella to cover and place back in oven uncovered. (bake for 8 to 10 more minutes)
  • 8. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes and serve.
