Mamma's Fried Squash image

Growing up in the country, my mom would fix this recipe, and I loved the bit of sweetness it had along with the crispy crunch!

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 medium yellow squash
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
flour
2 Tbsp sugar
vegetable oil for frying

Steps:

  • 1. Slice squash, then place in large ziplock bag. Pour flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder in bag, and shake it up to coat the squash.
  • 2. In frying pan, heat oil. Then put squash in pan and fry. Don't forget to shake off excess flour.
  • 3. Fry til browned, then in the last few minutes sprinkle sugar on squash, then cook a little while longer and drain on paper towel!
