5 tablespoons oil
1 medium red onion (finely chopped)
2 teaspoons meat or 2 teaspoons chicken curry powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 cup of finely diced chicken breast

  • To make pastry, mix flour with margarine, water, salt, and knead well. Let it rest for 1/2 hour. Cut the dough into circles (3 in) in diameter. Fold pastry over to make a half circle and crimp at edges. Deep fry in hot oil until golden.

These curry puffs were a bit too oily for my taste, but the filling was delicious. I think I'll try baking them next time instead of frying them.
