Lori's Creamy Pizza Casserole image

Creamy and delicious you're going to love this casserole! The mix of condensed soup and cream cheese make this so creamy. I used ham, pepperoni and Italian sausage as the meat and loved the combo. I added some mushrooms to the top too. Yummy! But customize the recipe to suit your taste. It's quick, easy and feeds a big crowd.

Time 50m

Number Of Ingredients 11

8 oz package cream cheese softened
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup
4 c cooked pasta of your choice
2 Tbsp dried Italian seasoning
3 c mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 c Parmesan cheese
16 oz jar of spaghetti sauce
1/4 c green pepper chopped
1/4 c chopped onion or green onion
any meats you like on your pizza. Some of the ones I use: pepperoni, diced ham, bacon, ground chuck (browned and crumbled), Italian sausage (browned and crumbled)
any other toppings you like on your pizza can be added: mushrooms, black olives, etc.

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Combine cream cheese, soup, and Italian seasonings, mix well.
  • 2. Add into pasta, coating the pasta and put into a large sprayed casserole dish (I like to use a lasagna pan).
  • 3. In a small bowl, combine mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • 4. Sprinkle 1/2 on top of the pasta mixture.
  • 5. Place meat choices over cheese.
  • 6. Spread pizza sauce over the meat mixture.
  • 7. Top with bell pepper, onions, and any other toppings. Top with remaining cheese. Bake in the oven until it is bubbly. I place it under the broiler for a few minutes to allow the cheese to turn golden brown.
  • 8. NOTE** The fat can be reduced in this recipe without changing the flavor. I use Neufchatel (lower fat) cream cheese, reduced fat/reduced sodium Fit N' Active Cream soup, mozzarella is already one of the healthiest cheeses, and a good healthy sauce. Hunts makes a great naturally low fat spaghetti sauce that is chunky vegetable (with zucchini, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and more). I do add a bit more seasonings. My family usually can't tell the difference when I get those veggies in this way!! To have a really quick dinner, use toppings that don't need to be cooked, like pepperoni, diced ham, real bacon bits.

The leftovers from this casserole are even better than when it's first made. I love to reheat it for lunch or dinner the next day.

I'm not a big fan of cream-based sauces, but I really enjoyed the sauce in this casserole. It was rich and flavorful, but not too heavy.

This recipe is a little bland for my taste. I think I'll add some extra spices next time.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my casserole turned out really dry. I think I might have used too much bread crumbs.

This casserole is a great way to get kids to eat their vegetables. They'll love the pizza crust and the creamy sauce, and they won't even notice the vegetables.

I'm not a huge fan of pizza casserole, but this one is pretty good. The creaminess of the sauce helps to balance out the richness of the cheese and the crunch of the crust.

This pizza casserole is a great way to use up leftover pizza ingredients. I had some leftover cheese and pepperoni, and I just threw it all in the casserole. It turned out great!

Loris' Creamy Pizza Casserole is a hit! The cheesy, creamy sauce is the perfect complement to the crispy pizza crust and the toppings. I added some sautéed mushrooms and onions to mine, and it was even better!
