Steps:
- Rub lemon wedge on rims of 8 glasses, then dip rims in sugar.
- Combine whiskey, kirsch, lemon juice, sugar, bitters, and ice in a pitcher, stirring until sugar dissolves. Divide among ice-filled glasses, garnish each with a cherry and a strip of lemon zest, and serve immediately.
