Lean Turkey Sausage Patties image

I developed this recipe as a way to deter my husband from eating pork sausage. The mixture also works well for making meatballs and burgers.-Yvonne Woodruff, Sacramento, California

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 large eggs
2/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons garlic salt
2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 pounds lean ground turkey
5 teaspoons canola oil, divided

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first 11 ingredients. Crumble turkey over mixture and mix well. Shape into thirty 2-1/2-in. patties. , Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook patties in batches over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side or until meat is no longer pink, using remaining oil as needed.
