KAHLUA CANDIED YAMS image

Number Of Ingredients 5

4-6 medium sized yams, cooked
¼ cup butter or margarine
1/3 cup brown sugar
¼ cup Kahlua
Pecan halves

Steps:

  • Cook yams in saucepan with boiling water to cover; simmer until tender (about 15-20 minutes). Remove from pan and let cool. Peel. Cut yams into serving size pieces. In heavy skillet, melt butter with sugar. Add Kahlua; cook 1 minute. Add yams; turn until brown on all sides. Cover. Reduce heat, cook about 15 minutes. Turn yams once more before serving. Sprinkle with pecan halves before serving. Makes 4-6 servings.
