Jan's Ham and Egg Breakfast Strata image

This recipe was first served to me 35 years ago while up North snowmobiling with a number of families. Now it typically gets served Christmas morning and on Memorial Day weekend while up North with friends. This is always a crowd pleaser and makes great leftovers.

This strata was a bit too dry for my taste. I think I'll add more milk next time.

I loved the idea of using bread and eggs to make a strata, but the result was a bit too dense for my liking. I think I'll try using a different bread next time.

The strata was a little bland for my taste. I would add more salt and pepper next time.

I didn't have any bread on hand, so I used day-old croissants instead. They added a delicious buttery flavor to the strata.

This breakfast strata was an easy and delicious way to feed a crowd on a busy weekend morning. I used a 9x13 pan and doubled the recipe, and it still cooked evenly in the time specified.
