I have enjoyed these cookies for a long time and misplaced the recipe. In going through my numerous cookbooks, I found it and wanted to share with everyone. The frosting calls for a chocolate butter cream frosting but I just make a powdered sugar frosting and add cocoa to it.

Steps:
- 1. Cream sugar, shortening, and vanilla. Add chocolate and eggs; beat well. Alternate flour with dry ingredients and buttermilk.
- 2. 400 degrees - 12 - 15 minutes; drop rounded tsp. onto greased cookie sheet. ENJOY!
