Hot Chocolate - South American Style image

This is a traditional South American chocolate drink, but to market it well I made it hot chocolate, even though in the old days, South Americans didn't drink it hot. The recipe uses chili powder, and I used red bell pepper to match the sweetness of the chocolate. This is a good way to bring an old recipe into today.

Overall, I thought this hot chocolate was pretty good. It's not the best I've ever had, but it's definitely worth trying.

I would give this recipe 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that it's so high in calories. It's definitely a treat that should be enjoyed in moderation.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my hot chocolate turned out grainy. I'm not sure what went wrong.

This hot chocolate was a bit too thick for my liking. I'll try adding more milk next time.

I found this hot chocolate to be a bit too sweet for my taste. I'll try it again with less panela next time.

I'm not usually a fan of hot chocolate, but this recipe changed my mind. It's so smooth and creamy, and the flavor is out of this world.

The panela gave this hot chocolate a really nice caramel flavor. I'll definitely be making this again!

This hot chocolate wasn't too sweet, which I really appreciated. I also liked the hint of saltiness from the panela.

This hot chocolate was a warm and comforting treat on a cold winter day. I also love the unique flavor that the panela and cinnamon added.
