Honey Granola Chex Mix image

Oregon produces 95 percent of the domestic hazelnuts in the United States. Enjoy the touch of sweetness that honey and coconut add to this wholesome mix.

4 cups Multi-Bran Chex™ cereal
4 cups Honey Nut Chex™ cereal
1/2 cup coarsely chopped hazelnuts (filberts) or walnuts
1/2 cup sunflower nuts
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup honey
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup raisins

Steps:

  • In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, hazelnuts and sunflower nuts.
  • In 2-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave butter and honey uncovered on High 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until mixture comes to a full boil and butter is melted. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated. Microwave uncovered on High 2 to 4 minutes, stirring every minute, until mixture is well coated and looks glazed.
  • Stir in coconut and raisins. Microwave uncovered on High 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool. Stir in airtight container.
