Hawaiian Pork Roast image

I use a pressure cooker and the pork is so tender and the sauce is great.

5 clove garlic smashed and finely chopped
2 inch piece ginger grated
1/2 c red wine vinegar
1/2 c soy sauce
1 c pineapple juice
1 c oyster sauce
1 large orange juiced and zested
3 star anise
1/2 c brown sugar
2 Tbsp garlic chili paste
5 lb pork roast

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients together and marinade for 24 to 48 hours.
  • 2. Remove pork from marinade. Pour marinade into a saucepan and reduce until thickened about 15 minutes.

  • 4. Place pork in roasting pan with a rack. Pour 1 cup water in bottom of roaster. Brush sauce all over pork. Roast pork at 350 degrees. basting with sauce every 15 minutes for 1 and 1/2 hours. Serve with sauce over top.
