Hamburger Casserole image

I think this casserole may also be known as Shepard's Pie, or is version of it anyway. We call it a good hamburger casserole. :)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 pound hamburger, browned and drained
½ cup onion, chopped
½ cup onion, chopped
½ teaspoon salt, or more
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 can (14 ounce) of green beans (cut or string), drained
3 cups mashed potatoes seasoned,yukon gold
½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese, or slice up some american cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • 2. Lightly butter or grease a 2 quart casserole dish; set aside.
  • 3. In a skillet, brown the hamburger. Add the salt, pepper, onion and garlic the last 5 minutes of browning.
  • 4. Add the browned hamburger to the prepared casserole dish.
  • 5. Add the drained green beans over the hamburger.
  • 6. Spread the mashed potatoes over the top of the green beans.
  • 7. Sprinkle cheese over mashed potatoes.
  • 8. Cover with foil and bake for 35-45 minutes.
