Steps:
- 1. Boil potatos slowly 10 minutes in small amount of water.
- 2. Saute chopped onion in butter. Stir in flour add salt. Let cook for a few minutes. Add 1 1/2 cups milk, bring to a simmer, stirring in 1 cup of the shreded cheese. Add ham pieces.
- 3. Pour all into undrained potatoes. Mix lightly. Pour into shallow baking dish. Sprinkle top with cheese. Bake 30 to 45 minutes in 350 degree oven.
