Grilled Italian Sandwich image

8 slice crusty italian bread
1/2 c mixed olive mayonnaise
1 Tbsp dijon mustard
1/2 c italian sandwich spread
24 slice summer sausage
8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, cubed
1 roasted bell pepper
4 oz provolone cheese
1/4 c extra virgin olive oil

Steps:

  • 1. Spread mayonnaise inside tops and bottoms of the bread and spread mustard on the inside tops only.
  • 2. Cover bottoms with sandwich spread.
  • 3. Layer the salami, mozzarella, the pepper cut into slices, and provolone slices in that order over the spread.
  • 4. Put the sandwiches together, brush the outside tops and bottoms with olive oil, and grill until the crusts are golden brown and the cheeses have melted.
  • 5. Transfer the sandwiches to a cutting board, let them set up for 2 minutes, cut, and serve.
