GREEN BEANS WITH SAGE AND SHIITAKE MUSHROOMS image

2 Lb. greeen beans, trimmed
2tbs. olive oil
2 tbs. butter
3-4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
12 oz. shiitake mushrooms, stemmed and halved
3 tbs. chopped fresh sage
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Steam green beans over boiling water until just tender 3 to 4 min. Drain green beans, and run cold water over to stop cooking. Set aside. In a large skillet heat olive oil and butter. Add garlic and cook until golden, add the mushrooms and continue to cook, stirring often until mushrooms are cooked through. Add the beans and continue to cook 5 to 8 minutes more. Add sage, salt and pepper to taste.
