Green Beans with Bacon and Potatoes image

This recipe is a family favorite that I am always tweaking.

2 lb fresh green beans
1/2 pkg hickory smoked bacon
1 red onion
1 tsp cruched red pepper flakes
3 medium red potatoes
2/3 c low sodium chicken broth
2 clove garlic

Steps:

  • 1. Cook bacon.
  • 2. Sauté onions and pepper flakes in bacon grease, add green beans, potatoes and chicken broth.Cover and cook until potatoes and beans are tender.
  • 3. When beans and potatoes are tender remove cover. Add garlic and cook until broth has evaporated.
  • 4. Add salt and pepper.
