Great Grape Recipe image

I ate this at a friend's house a couple of years ago at Thanksgiving and have wanted it ever since. I finally got her to send me the recipe which was a link to another site so I'm not sure if I should include that or not. I am going to alter this just a bit because it was a bit much for my husband and I. It it very good for a...

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1-2 lb red grapes
1-2 lb green grapes
8 oz cream cheese
8 oz sour cream
1/2 c sugar
1/3 c crushed pecans
1 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Steps:

  • 1. 1-2 lbs red seedless grapes depending on how many you are going to serve. I did the full 2 lbs and it was way to much for just my husband and I. 1 lb would have been plenty.
  • 2. 1-2 lbs green seedless grapes, depending on many you will be serving. You don't have to use both red and green, I can tell any difference except the red are larger. Using both 2 lbs of each gives 4 lbs of grapes and that's way to much for two people unless you have very large appetites. Even eating a second day we had a lot left over so unless there are a lot of people being served my suggestion is no more than a pound or even less if just serving 2 people.
  • 3. 8 Oz. cream cheese softened.
  • 4. 8 Oz. sour cream
  • 5. 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6. 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 7. 1/3 crushed pecans
  • 8. Take all of the grapes off the stem and wash thoroghly. Pat dry with a paper towel. Mix cream cheese, sour cream, 1/2 sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla by hand until blended well. Add grapes and mix the grapes and cream cheese mixture until grapes are covered well. Mix brown sugar and pecans together and spread over top of grape cream cheese mixture. Chill over night and serve. I love the cream cheese/sour cream mixture just served over bananas by themselves so I guess bananas could be added to this dessert also. We decided it would be better with less grapes and more of the cream cheese mixture but not everyone will have the same taste as ours. I have posted this recipe on my Facebook page without any kind of alterations and with the link so please fill free to look me up. I have my stuff listed as friends only so you have trouble looking it up please let me know. Hope you enjoy. :-)

I've tried many grape recipes, but this one is by far the best. The grapes are always cooked to perfection and the flavor is amazing.
