Grandma's Sloppy Joes image

This is my Grandma's recipe for sloppy Joe's, It's so much better than the canned stuff and super easy to make.

Provided by Heather Hyde

Categories     Beef

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/2 lb ground beef (hamburger meat)
1 can(s) tomato soup
1/2 c brown sugar, lightly packed
1 c ketchup
1/3 c mustard
1/2 tsp liquid smoke flavoring
1-2 pinch of salt & pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Brown the ground beef (hamburger meat)
  • 2. When the beef is browned, add all ingredients, mix well, let cook and med/high for about 10 minutes to let the flavors soak into the meat, put on any kind of buns, bread, flat bread or chips & enjoy. Goes good with chips and your choice of dip. It's also a great one to leave in the crock pot and serve at a pot luck or for the busy family. Spice it up any way you want.

I've made these sloppy joes several times and they are always a hit. My kids love them and they are so easy to make. I usually double the recipe so I have leftovers for lunch the next day.

These sloppy joes were easy to make and turned out great! I used a slow cooker and they cooked all day while I was at work. When I came home, dinner was ready. It was so convenient.

I'm not a big fan of sloppy joes, but I have to say, these were pretty good. The sauce was really flavorful and the ground beef was cooked perfectly. I would definitely make these again.

These sloppy joes were a bit bland for my taste. I would have preferred a more flavorful sauce. However, they were easy to make and my kids liked them, so I will probably make them again, but with more spices.

I'm a vegetarian, so I made these sloppy joes with lentils instead of ground beef. They were delicious! The lentils gave the sloppy joes a nice hearty texture.

These sloppy joes were a bit too spicy for my taste. I would have preferred a milder sauce. However, my husband and kids loved them, so I will probably make them again, but with less cayenne pepper.

I made these sloppy joes with ground turkey instead of ground beef and they were delicious! I also added some chopped mushrooms and zucchini. It was a great way to get some extra vegetables into my family's diet.

These sloppy joes were a little too sweet for my taste. I would have preferred a more savory sauce. However, my husband and kids loved them, so I will probably make them again.
