- 1. Stir together the boiling water and oatmeal until there are no lumps, and let cool in refrigerator. (you can use leftover oatmeal if desired, use at room temperature). Combine sugars,oleo and eggs beat well then add the flour, cinnamon, soda and salt. Blend well then add cooled oatmeal and blend well. Pour into sprayed 9x13-inch cake pan. Bake in 350^ oven for 40-50 minutes. --- Frosting: In a small saucepan combine butter,sugar and milk, heat to boiling. Remove from heat add vanilla, coconut and pecans. Spread on cake while it is still warm.
