Categories     Bean

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 can tomatoes mashed/chopped
a few cans of tomato soup & 1/2 tin water (or more)
1 or 2 lbs hamburger
kidney beans - 2 or more cans
pork and beans - 1 or 2 cans
onions - 2, chopped
green pepper - diced
chick peas - garbanzo beans
2 tbsp cumin
2 or more tbsp chili powder
salt & pepper

Steps:

  • Slowly brown onion and green pepper in a bit of oil to soften it, brown hamburger in same frying pan. Pour off any extra grease from the pan into a tin can (let it solidify then throw out). Add cumin and chili and cook for 30 sec to 1 minute until fragrant. Drain and rinse kidney beans and chick peas. Place all ingredients in large pot. Over medium heat bring to a boil, then lower to a low simmer and cook covered for 1 or 2 hours. You can also take lid off and chili will thicken more. Stir it every once in a while so it doesn't stick to the bottom.
