Grandma's Apple Cake image

This is a favorite of my late grandma's recipes. She passed away a year ago October 27 and I am just now able to look at her cookbooks and make what I call my memory food. This is a very simple cake and is delicious iced or not. Enjoy!

This apple cake is a great way to use up leftover pie crust. Just roll out the pie crust and press it into a 9-inch pie plate. Then, fill the pie crust with the apple filling and bake.

I've made this apple cake with different types of apples, and it always turns out great. My favorite is to use a mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples.
