Grandma's Amish Cookies image

We adored these cookies! Simple ingredients and a delicious result. The texture of the cookies is almost air-like but crisp at the same time. They're sweet, but not overly sweet or rich. A fantastic cookie for a cookie exchange or Christmas favor, but don't limit these to Christmastime. We can see these being addictive and going...

These cookies are a bit too flat for my taste. I think I might try rolling the dough out thicker next time.

These cookies are a bit too crumbly for my taste. I think I might try chilling the dough before baking next time.

These cookies were a bit too spicy for my taste, but I think that's just because I'm not a big fan of cloves. I would recommend using a little less cloves next time.

I found that these cookies were a bit dry. I think I might try adding an extra egg next time.

These cookies are a bit too sweet for my taste, but I think that's just a matter of personal preference. I would recommend using a little less sugar next time.

These cookies are a great way to use up leftover molasses. They're also a great make-ahead cookie, so you can have them on hand for unexpected guests.

I was a bit hesitant to try these cookies because I'm not a big fan of molasses, but I'm glad I did! The molasses flavor is very subtle and it really complements the other spices in the cookie.

These Amish cookies are a delightful treat! They have a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy interior. The molasses and spices give them a warm and comforting flavor. I especially love the addition of raisins, which add a touch of sweetness and texture.
