Grandma Pesek's Date Cookies image

I grew up eating these date cookies at Grandmas house. I always remember her everytime I make them. The aroma of Grandmas. What a great memory...

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
3 eggs
2 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp almond extract
3 cups flour
1/4 tsp ground allspice
2 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp tumeric powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup finely chopped pecans
2 8oz pkg dates finely chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Cream brown sugar sugar and butter
  • 2. Add 3 egg vanilla extract and almond extract to mix and cream together
  • 3. Add all dry ingredients together with flour
  • 4. Mix 1/2 dry ingredients together until well blended add remaining dry ingredients until well blended
  • 5. Add dates and pecans mix togather stir until well blended
  • 6. Drop by tsp fulls onto ungreased cookie sheet
  • 7. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350 for softer cookies only bake 10 minutes
