GRANDMA MASHIE'S MANDEL BREAD image

Yield 40 cookies

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/4 lb melted butter or 1 cup oil
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup chopped nuts (optional add chocolate chips, dates, chopped Heath bar pieces, whatever you like.)
I often use nuts and Heath bar pieces. then I mix some parts with ch. chips.
cinnamon and sugar mixture- for sprinkling

Steps:

  • combine eggs and sugar. add butter/oil- mix add flour and baking powder and mix add nuts and other ingredients. dough will be sticky. Grease cookie sheets ( I use parchment paper divide dough into 4 sections and shape into loaves. sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and bake for 40-45 minutes. remove and cut into slices. Place each slice flat on cookie sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar. bake 5 minutes. remove and repeat with other side.
