These were some of my favorite cookies when I was a little girl. This recipe actually comes from my Grandma Hetland's mom. She came from the Egeland family. Very Norwegian.

Steps:
- 1. Blend molasses, sugar and shortening. Add egg and spices. mix until combined then add flour.
- 2. My grandmother did not give a measurement for flour. So I estimated. Her exact words, "put in enough flour to handle and make into balls. Keep the dough soft."
- 3. Make into balls, press with a glass and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350* for 10 minutes.
