German-Style Green Beans image

This is a nice side dish to any German entree, especially pork. It can be made in the crock pot, or on the stovetop.

2 14-oz can(s) green beans, with liquid
6 slice bacon, cooked, reserve drippings
bacon drippings, optional
6 Tbsp vinegar
6 Tbsp brown sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Place all ingredients in a small crock pot including some of the bacon drippings (optional).
  • 2. Cook on low 6-8 hours.
  • 3. The longer the beans cook, the more flavorful they are.
  • 4. This recipe can easily be doubled.
