Garden Tomato Soup image

Meet the Cook: "Delicious" and "filling" are the words friends I've served this soup to use to describe it. Alone, it makes for a tasty lunch...or you can have it with a sandwich or crackers. Like an even heartier soup? Simply cube some of your leftover cooked chicken or roast and add. I've long enjoyed trying new recipes on my husband. He's a former agriculture minister of Saskatchewan...and my taste tester of 52 years! We have four grown sons and 11 grandchildren. -Frances McFarlane, Winnipeg, Manitoba

I would make this soup again, but I would make a few changes. I would use fewer tomatoes and add a bit of sugar to balance out the acidity. I would also add some more spices to give the soup more flavor.

This soup was a bit bland. I think I would have preferred it if I had used more spices.

This soup was a bit too tangy for my taste. I think I would have preferred it if I had used fewer tomatoes or if I had added a bit of sugar to balance out the acidity.

I'm not usually a fan of tomato soup, but this recipe changed my mind. The roasted tomatoes gave the soup a deep and rich flavor, and the addition of the cream and Parmesan cheese made it creamy and decadent. I will definitely be making this soup aga

This soup was a hit with my family! The flavors were perfectly balanced and the texture was creamy and smooth. I especially loved the addition of the fresh basil, which gave the soup a bright and herbaceous flavor.
