We did have to add a little more milk to get the proper consistency, but they still turned out great. It was fun to play around and learn the technique of the swirl...

Steps:
- 1. Lightly beat the eggs and then whisk in milk and vanilla.
- 2. Sift dry ingredients together.
- 3. Gradually add dry ingredients to milk mixture. Beat until smooth.
- 4. Heat oil in a frying pan to 375 degrees. (Make sure oil is heated enough or batter or will not cook quickly enough to retain shape.)
- 5. Using a standard kitchen funnel with a 1/2" hole, drizzle the batter quickly onto the hot oil, spiraling the batter placement so that you have a circular web of dough. Fry for 45 seconds or until brown. Then flip and fry the underside until evenly brown.
- 6. Remove the cake from the oil and let drain on a paper towel.
- 7. Dust with powdered sugar and then load with the toppings of your choice. Enjoy!
