Steps:
- To prepare pastry, sift dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Cut in butter and work until mixture resembles coarse meal (you can use a food processor to do this, but be careful not to overwork). In a separate bowl, mix eggs, vanilla, and milk together, and stir into dry ingredients. Preheat to 400. Butter a 10 inch quiche or pizza pan and pat dough in, bringing up the sides of the pan. To assemble kuchen, arrange apple slices around the outside of pastry, overlapping or placing them close together. Arrange the remaining fruit and nuts in concentric circles inside the apple slices, making a decorative pattern. Mix sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter together and sprinkle evenly over top of fruit and nuts. Bake 25 minutes.
