Fried Cabbage image

This is something my grandma used to make whenever we would come to dinner...when I was very young I hated it...but as I got older I grew into it and now its a favorite of mine....and its so simple.....

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 large head of cabbage, chopped
1 medium onion, diced
1 tsp black pepper
3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp cooking oil of choice (vegetable, canola or olive work best)

Steps:

  • 1. in a large skillet heat the oil and sauté the onion until just starting to turn golden brown.
  • 2. add cabbage and stir well to make sure all cabbage is coated with oil.
  • 3. let cook for about 2 mins and then add the pepper and soy sauce. Cover and cook until cabbage is cooked through and tender. (you can also add 1 tablespoon minced garlic to this along with the soy sauce and pepper if you are a garlic lover, or if you like spicy add 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes for a good kick)
