Fried Apple Rings image

These are a great snack, side dish, dessert, breakfast...anything goes!! Another great way to use up apples that are past their prime. Simple, but different and very tasty, and kids love these, too. I think I practically lived on these when I was a kid...grandma made them for us all the time:) When served as a dessert, they are great with a dollop of whipped topping.

These apple rings were a bit too greasy for my taste. I think I'll try baking them next time.

I had a hard time getting the batter to stick to the apple rings. I ended up having to use a lot more batter than the recipe called for.

These apple rings were a bit too sweet for my taste, but they were still good. I think I'll try making them with less sugar next time.

I was a bit skeptical about how these would turn out, but I was pleasantly surprised! They were crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. I'll definitely be making these again.
