This wonderful recipe was clipped out of a cooking magazine in the early 80's. MMMmm, fresh green beans, so bright and crisp, flavored with bacon, onion,and cider vinegar. A real taste treat. This is one of my favorite side dishes, and have made it many times.

Steps:
- 1. Trim ends of green beans, and cook in boiling, salted water until crisp and tender. Drain and plunge into ice water. Drain again and set aside. In a large skillet cook bacon till crisp. Drain on a paper towel. Drain off all but 2 Tablespoons of of bacon drippings.
- 2. Saute onion till tender, in the bacon drippings. Stir in flour, cook and stir until bubbly. Stir in water, vinegar and sugar, heat to boiling and continue to cook until slightly thickened. Add beans, and heat, tossing occasionally. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and cooked bacon.
