I tend to have all these ingredients on hand at all times and make this often. After finding this handwritten recipe in my personal cookbook (that houses my own as well as family member recipes) today, I began craving this amazingly sweet barbeque-ish, meaty and beany dish! I think it will be Friday's dinner! If I remember I will...

1 lb bacon
1 lb ground beef
1 pkg kielbasa/polish sausage
1/2 c catsup
3 dash(es) vinegar
1/4 c brown sugar
1 can(s) great northern beans
1 can(s) pork and beans
1 can(s) butter beans
1 can(s) kidney beans

Steps:

  • 1. Cut bacon into bite-sized pieces and slice kielbasa sausage into 1/4 inch slices.
  • 2. Brown bacon, hamburger and kielbasa together in a large skillet, drain and rinse. Return to skillet.
  • 3. To the meat mixture add catsup, vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir until well combined on low heat.
  • 4. Add the beans to the skillet, stir well.
  • 5. Cover the pan and let simmer on low heat for an hour, stirring occasionally.
  • 6. Serve hot!
