Favorite French Dressing image

I grew up next to a restaurant, that we frequented often in the summer months...I fell in love with their homemade dressing...well, knowing the folks that owned the restaurant..it wasn't hard to pry the recipe from them...I've always had a bottle of this in my refrigerator...it's great marinade too...have used it on chicken many...

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 c olive oil
2/3 c ketchup
1/2 - 2/3 c sugar - start with 1/2 if want sweeter add more
1/2 c white vinegar
3 Tbsp minced sweet onion
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 1/4 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp each - salt, pepper, paprika
sometimes i add some garlic powder as well...1/2 tsp

Steps:

  • 1. In a jar or container with a lid; add all ingredients and then shake until well blended.
  • 2. Refrigerate for several hours before using.
  • 3. Enjoy!
