Fantastic Twinkie Refrigerator Strawberry Shortcake! image

Plan ahead this needs to chill for a minimum of 2 hours before serving, purchase the ready-made glaze for this, if you like a lot of cream topping then use a 12-ounce container of Cool Whip topping, 16 servings is only estimated I can eat this whole cake myself lol! --- see note on bottom for a thinner twinkie crust -- you will *LOVE* this! :)

5 cups sliced fresh strawberries

16 Hostess Twinkies (purchase a few more just in case you need them)

This recipe was a disaster. The shortcake was dry and crumbly, and the strawberries were mushy. I followed the recipe exactly, so I'm not sure what went wrong.

I thought this was going to be too sweet, but it was actually perfect! The Twinkies add a nice sweetness, but the strawberries and whipped cream balance it out.

★★★★★ Great recipe! Easy to follow and the results were fantastic. The shortcake was light and fluffy, and the strawberries were perfectly sweet and tart. I will definitely be making this again!

I used fresh strawberries from my garden and they were amazing in this shortcake! It's nice to finally find a dessert recipe that is easy and has a touch of nostalgia with the Twinkies...
