Escalloped Apples image

The aroma from this dish will make your house smell wonderful. These apples are absolutely delicious served over pancakes or oatmeal.

Number Of Ingredients 10

6 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 c sugar
3 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp clove
1/2 c raisins (or dried cranberries)
1/2 c walnuts, chopped
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c whole milk

Steps:

  • 1. Place apples in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix together sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  • 2. Stir spice mix into apples until evenly distributed. Fold in walnuts and raisins.
  • 3. Spoon mixture into a greased 2-qt. casserole. Mix vanilla and milk; pour evenly over apple mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes, or until soft and bubbly. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
