Elvis' Favorite Meatloaf image

This was (supposedly) Elvis Presley's favorite meatloaf, as prepared for him by his cook at Graceland. Whether it was or not, it is gooood!! *I have also posted the optional Special Cheese Sauce for the meatloaf!

Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 lb ground beef
1/2 tsp salt
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium bell pepper, red or green, chopped
1 c grated cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 c sour cream
1 tsp lawry's seasoned salt
1 egg, beaten
1 c ritz crackers, crushed
2 slices white bread

Steps:

  • 1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Mix all ingredients together, except for bread. Shape into loaf. Line a 1 and 1/2 qt loaf pan with the bread slices. Place meatloaf on top. *The bread soaks up grease, and should be thrown away after the meatloaf is done.
  • 3. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, until meat is cooked through.

This meatloaf was a bit bland for my taste. I think I should have added more spices to the meat mixture.

I'm not a big fan of meatloaf, but I tried this recipe and it was actually really good. The sauce is what really makes it.

This meatloaf was a bit too dry for my taste. I think I should have added more ketchup to the sauce.
