Easy Stove Top Candied Sweet Potatoes image

6 -8 yams, peeled and cut into big chunks
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 (16 ounce) bottle Dark Karo syrup
1/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • Put all ingredients into a nice sized pot.
  • Cover and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to a medium-low, stirring not to burn.
  • Cook until nice and thick, about 45 minutes.
  • They will get nice and thick as they cool down some.
