Easy Savory Baked Beans image

Easy - to - make beans - a side dish packed with bacon and appetizing flavors!

1/2 pound bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 cup molasses
1 tablespoon white vinegar
4 cans (16 ounces each) baked beans
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped (1 cup)
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)

Steps:

  • Cook bacon in 10-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until crisp. Drain, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings.
  • Mix cooked bacon, 2 tablespoons drippings and remaining ingredients in 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on high heat setting 1 hour.
  • Turn to low heat setting; cook 5 to 7 hours to blend and develop flavors.
