Number Of Ingredients 4

2 large cans van camps pork & beans (53 oz)
1 lb bacon
1/2 box dark brown sugar
1 large onion diced

Steps:

  • 1. Slice bacon crosswise into 1/2" pieces. Fry until crisp. Drain on paper towels.
  • 2. Dice onion into small pieces.
  • 3. Pour both cans of pork & beans into large bowl. Add bacon, onion and brown sugar and mix well.
  • 4. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray. Pour bean mixture in pan and bake at 350 degrees for an hour or an hour and half until liquid thickens.
  • 5. Note: You may have to add a little more brown sugar until the beans are a nice brownish red color. Or less if you don't like sweet baked beans.

These beans were a bit too spicy for my taste, but my husband loved them. I think I'll use less cayenne pepper next time.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my beans turned out a little dry. I think I might have cooked them for too long. Next time, I'll check on them sooner.

These beans were a bit too sweet for my taste, but my kids loved them. I think I'll try reducing the amount of brown sugar next time.
