Time 25m

Yield 6 to 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 large eggs
1/2 cup French vanilla creamer
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 to 8 thick-cut slices honey wheat bread
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
6 to 8 tablespoons salted butter, for pan-frying
Maple syrup, for serving

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, creamer, and vanilla until fully combined. Pour the mixture onto a large plate with edges, such as a pie plate or baking dish. Dip the bread slices into the mixture, being sure to coat both sides evenly. In a small bowl, whisk together sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, and pan-fry two slices of battered bread at a time until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. When the second side is golden brown, generously sprinkle cinnamon and sugar onto each piece and flip again. Let the sugar caramelize for 30 second to 1 minute; repeat process on the other side. Remove from the skillet and transfer to a plate; repeat process with remaining butter, battered bread and cinnamon sugar, two slices at a time.
  • Transfer to plates and serve with maple syrup.

This recipe is a bit too complicated for my taste. I prefer French toast recipes that are simpler and quicker to make.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my French toast turned out really dry. I followed the recipe exactly, but it just didn't come out right.

This recipe is just okay. It's not bad, but it's not great either. I've had better French toast at restaurants.

I was disappointed with this recipe. The French toast was too eggy and didn't have much flavor. I won't be making it again.

I was skeptical about the double-dipping technique, but it really does make a difference. The French toast was so much crispier and more flavorful than when I've used other recipes.

This recipe is a lifesaver for busy mornings. I can quickly whip up a batch of French toast while my kids are getting ready for school. They love the crispy edges and the sweet, custardy filling.

I've tried many French toast recipes over the years, but this one is definitely my favorite. The addition of cinnamon and nutmeg gives it a warm, inviting flavor that's perfect for a cozy weekend brunch.

This French toast recipe is a game-changer! The double-dipping technique creates a crispy, golden-brown crust that's perfectly complemented by the fluffy, tender interior. I loved that I could use up leftover bread and still end up with a delicious b
