This is my grandmothers recipe that she got from someone at the bowling alley she used to frequent. She would fix this dip for the family for years until she couldn't cook anymore and now her daughter, my mother fixes it for the family every Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Time 17m

Yield 1 bowl, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

8 ounces sour cream
4 ounces mayonnaise, maybe a little more
1 tablespoon dill weed
1 tablespoon onion flakes
season salt, season to taste

Steps:

  • Mix sour cream, mayo, dill weed & onion flakes together in a large bowl.
  • Then add season salt to taste.
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour then serve with potato chips.
  • Note 1: You must be careful with the season salt because when the dip is chilled the flavor becomes much stronger.
  • Note 2: You can double or triple the recipe to make bigger batches of dill dip.

I've never been a fan of dill dip, but this recipe changed my mind. It's so creamy and flavorful, and the dill is not overpowering at all.

I love that this dip is made with Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. It makes it a healthier option, but it's still just as creamy and delicious.

This dip is so versatile. I've used it as a dip for chips and veggies, as a spread for sandwiches, and even as a marinade for chicken. It's always delicious.

I was a little hesitant to try this dip because I'm not a big fan of dill, but I was pleasantly surprised. The flavor is actually really nice and it's not overpowering.
