Different Slaw image

This is a recipe that my aunt makes for family affairs. We all love it! It is such a change from the traditional coleslaw, and healthier than the mayo dressing that usually accompanies it! Goes well with anything that you would use coleslaw for!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 pkg broccoli slaw mix
1 bunch green onions
1 pkg (3 oz.) sunflower seeds
1 pkg (2 oz.) slivered almonds
1 pkg beef ramen noodles
3/4 c oil (i use vegetable)
1/3 c white vinegar
1/2 c sugar

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, with a lid, mix together the cole slaw mix, sliced green onions, sunflower seeds, slivered almonds, and ramen noodles (broken up and flavor packet set aside). Set this aside.
  • 2. In a smaller bowl, or I use a shaker-type bottle, mix together oil, vinegar, sugar and the beef flavor packet from the ramen noodles. Mix well.
  • 3. Pour dressing over slaw and mix well. Chill in refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours or overnight (I overnight it!). Mix well, again, before serving.
