Deep Fried Kool-Aid image

Some of you might have heard about Deep Fried Kool-Aid being sold at the state fair that's so deliz that the news stations are making it while on live TV. I saw this recipe posted while I was watching the news so thought I'd try it and post it. It's really good. I didn't tell my kids what they were eating until they had already...

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 large eggs
2 cups milk
1/4 cup sugar
3 2/3 cups plain, all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup dry unsweetened cherry kool-aid powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
vegetable oil
1/4 cup dry unsweetened cherry kool-aid powder
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Beat eggs and sugar together. Slowly add milk while beating slowly. Add flour, 1/4 cup of dry kool-aid powder,salt and baking powder then beat till nice and creamy. The batter should be bright pink. Add more Kool-Aid powder as desired. Cook in hot vegetable oil for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove when batter is golden brown and crispy. Roll in mixture of the remaining 1/4 cup Kool-Aid powder and the 1/2 cup powdered sugar. Allow to cool a bit before eating so it doesn't burn your mouth. Taste best with a glass of cold Kool-Aid to drink.
