I never really measure the water, I just rinse the cans out and add to the pot, if you do not plan on simmering the chili all day you really do not need to add a lot of water.

Steps:
- 1. Cook the 3 slices of bacon, then remove and hold aside for latter.
- 2. In the bacon grease brown the ground meat and pork on high.
- 3. Lower the heat and add diced onion and garlic glove, let the onions sweat a few minuets
- 4. then add the diced tomatoes, sauce, paste, water and season to taste. simmer 2-3 hours (3-6 hours would be better and serve the next day.)
- 5. After the first hour add the beans (optional) and skim grease if needed,
- 6. Crumble bacon and add to chili, if you have not eaten it yet, before serving.
